Minister of Defence Lays Wreath at Mt. Avala on Serbian Armed Forces Day

On the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day, on behalf of the Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin laid the wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero.

On the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day, today, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubiša Diković and the Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence, Major General Ranko Živak, laid the wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero at Mt. Avala.
 
Minister Vulin wrote in the memorial book:
 
“The rebellious people of Serbia, together with the rebellious army, showed that the people and the army are one, that through history they have won the highest value, and that is freedom.
 
We gained statehood, integrity and sovereignty of the state and the Armed Forces, thanks to our brave ancestors, our warriors and heroes.
 
It remains to us to maintain even more what our ancestors left us as a legacy and not to allow anybody to disunite our people and the Armed Forces.
 
United we can head to the future, united we can maintain freedom, our army, and the sovereignty and integrity of the Republic of Serbia.

In Takovo, where the Second Serbian Uprising was launched in 1815, a delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, led by the Deputy Commander of the Training Command, Brigadier General Jelesije Radivojević laid wreaths.
