Today, at the airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić attended a presentation of new unmanned aerial vehicles CH-92A of the Serbian Armed Forces, capable of delivering attack by laser guided missiles on targets on the ground. Their acquisition significantly enhanced reconnaissance capability from the air. Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović was also present at the presentation.

President Vučić noted that those were six new unmanned aerial vehicles bought from the People’s Republic of China, which can engage their targets from a distance of some nine kilometres, and at the same time, they are capable of recording the situation on the ground and position of enemy units and facilities deep in enemy territory from a distance of 250 kilometres.

— This is becoming a modern way of warfare. In that respect we were unable and we had no chance whatsoever to compete with more serious countries. Now we are starting, and it is important that we have agreed technology transfer with the Chinese side, so that our Pegasus can as well be slowly introduced into the system of the Serbian Armed Forces. We are learning and we are taking over engineering technology which we have not fully finalised. For the time being we have 18 missiles, and we will buy more, they are not expensive, but these are the best weapons and this was shown during the warfare in Yemen and Saudi Arabia — solely by means of unmanned aerial vehicles, with no human casualties, but the results are the most powerful and you deliver the hardest blow to your potential enemy — said President Vučić, underlying that he was happy that the Serbian Armed Forces were growing, making progress, and because they were many times stronger in comparison to their state several years ago.

The Serbian Armed Forces are the first in the region to be equipped with the unmanned aerial vehicles CH-92A whose action radius is more than 250 kilometres, its maximum flight altitude is 5,000 metres, while its speed is a bit less than 200 kilometres per hour. The system of unmanned aerial vehicles CH-92A represents a multifunctional system that can be used for realisation of a wide spectre of tasks, such as air reconnaissance, precise determination of coordinates of spotted targets on the ground, automatic tracking of moving targets on the ground, intelligence preparation of theatre, artillery fire correction, assessment of effects of engagement, assault by laser guided missiles on the targets on the ground, laser designation of targets for the purpose of engaging other laser guided ammunition — bombs and missiles.

Following the viewing of the new unmanned aerial vehicles of the Serbian Armed Forces, answering a reporter’s question regarding the current situation in Novi Pazar, President Vučić explained that he spoke that morning with generals of the Serbian Armed Forces who were in Novi Pazar and that the situation was better than the previous day. He stated that the Serbian Armed Forces should have been engaged earlier in that town to provide assistance.

— The armed forces have done excellent job. I issued an order within 24 hours both to Chief of General Staff General Milan Mojsilović and Head of Military Health Department Major General Uglješa Jovičić MD. They have done excellent work and our doctors and all others as well. We should have done it earlier — the President of Serbia concluded.
