Training of the force protection platoon from the Training Command for deployment in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon is underway at the ‘Borovac’ training field and at the ‘South’ base.

During this part of preparations, collective training is conducted in conditions similar to those in the area of operation, and the incidents that the platoon works on are fully adapted to the situations in which it can be found during the execution of tasks in the mission.

Before being deployed to the peacekeeping operation, intensive training is carried out in the study rooms and in the training and exercise areas of the Serbian Armed Forces in order to ensure the full readiness of the unit to perform dedicated tasks.

The program includes contents from tactical, fire, physical and medical training and topics from international humanitarian law, with a focus on the execution of tasks when patrolling and securing the base. In the final part of the preparations of the force protection platoon, a three-day tactical exercise is planned, at which the training and interoperability of the unit for deployment in this mission will be tested.

Serbian Armed Forces have been deploying a force protection platoon in the United Nations mission in Lebanon since 2014. The main task of our platoon, which is part of the Italian contingent, is to secure the base where the United Nations forces are stationed.
