Marking the Army Day and the Infantry Day

In garrisons and garrison locations across the country, Day of Army Service and Day of Infantry Branch were marked yesterday, on November 16, in memory of the day when, in 1914, one of the most significant battles in the First World War, the Battle of Kolubara, began.

On the occasion of the holiday, wreaths were laid on King Alexander the Unifier Square in Niš, and a ceremonial gathering was held in the Serbian Armed Forces House in Niš, where congratulations were read and awards and recognitions were presented to the best individuals.

In his address, Army Commander, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, referred to the results achieved in training, equipping and fighting COVID-19 and paid tribute to all personnel for their selfless commitment and dedication to the Serbian Armed Forces.

Army personnel marked the Patron Saint Day of Djurdjic yesterday, and the holidays were marked in compliance with the prescribed measures for the suppression and prevention of the spread of the infectious disease COVID-19.
