Marking the Day of the Air Force and Air Defence

A military ceremony at the Air Force and Air Defence Command in Zemun marked today December 24 — the Day of the Air Force and Air Defence, in memory of the day when in 1912, the Air Force Command of the Serbian Army based in Nis was formed.
On the occasion of the holiday, wreaths were laid at the memorial to the fallen members of the Air Force and Air Defence, and a solemn gathering was held at the Air Force Club in Zemun, where congratulatory messages were read and awards and recognitions were presented to the best members.
In his address, the Air Force and Air Defence Commander Major General Dusko Zarkovic, referred to the achieved results in training, equipping and fighting against COVID-19 and commended all members of the service for their selfless commitment and dedication to the Serbian Armed Forces.
The holiday was marked in compliance with all measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
