With Members of the Serbian Armed Forces in the Base Trmka on Christmas

Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Milan Mojsilović, accompanied by the Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, spent Christmas with the members of the Serbian Armed Forces in the Base “Trmka” in the Ground Safety Zone near Kuršumlija.

On that occasion, Minister Vulin stressed that the situation in the Ground Safety Zone was as usual and that there did not exist any threat to security of our people and territory.

— All members of the Serbian Armed Forces execute their tasks in line with the plan and according to the orders of their superior command. Even today, regardless of the holiday, all the members of the Serbian Armed Forces protect our way of life, protect our territory and guarantee that the rule of law, rule of legislation, and everyone’s property and everyone’s honour be preserved and that every citizen of Serbia will be able to spend these holidays with their families — Minister Vulin underlined.

According to him, the situation in the Ground Safety Zone was peaceful, and the life in the base was carried out in keeping with the plan.

Commander of the Base “Trmka”, Lieutenant Aleksandar Čanak underscored that the task of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces engaged in that base was to secure the administrative line and control the Ground Safety Zone.

— Like any other day, even today on Christmas, we execute our tasks in accordance with the orders of our superior command — Lieutenant Čanak emphasised.

Senior Sergeant First Class Hadži Milan Stojanović who is Commander of a rifle group spends Christmas with his colleagues in the Base “Trmka”.

— We discharge our tasks in the Ground Safety Zone, even on today’s holiday, and our tasks are to preserve peace in our country — Senior Sergeant First Class Stojanović stressed wishing merry Christmas to everyone with the traditional greeting “Christ is born!”.

Though they are not spending today’s holiday with their families, the members of the Serbian Armed Forces are aware of the importance of their tasks. Among them is Corporal Aleksandar Živković, who is a service dog handler.

— Even though today is Christmas, we are engage every day on patrols, since we are aware of the responsibilities of the duties that we perform — Corporal Živković stressed.

During the visit to the base, the Base “Trmka” Commander, Lieutenant Čanak informed the minister of defence and Chief of General Staff about the tasks of the members in the Base “Trmka”, manner of their execution, and about significant events in the area of responsibility.

As the tradition of celebrating the most joyful Christian holiday, Christmas, entails, with the words “Christ is born!”, Minister Vulin and General Mojsilović joined the members of the Third Brigade who are engaged in the Base “Trmka” in Christmas lunch.
