Members of the 3rd Missile Battalion of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade, which includes the Pantsir-S1 artillery-missile system conducted complex training on the new system and are fully trained for its use in the protection of the sky of the Republic of Serbia.

Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin visited today the members of that unit in the "Major Milan Tepić" barracks in Jakovo, where was shown the training on the Pantsir S1 and part of the operational capabilities of the 3rd Air Defence Missile Battalion.

Members of that battalion showed the systems emplacement, their transition to standby number 1, battle crews working in command and combat vehicles, reloading of missiles, as well as fixing a malfunction on the optoelectronic system of the Pantsir S1 combat vehicle.

After the visit, Minister Vulin said that there is no military in the world that would give up the name and tradition of a unit such as the 3rd Air Defence Missile Battalion, which shot down the famous "stealth" F-117A aircraft, an F-16 aircraft and successfully defended our country during the NATO aggression in 1999.

Equipping the Pantsir-S1 unit has increased the number of targets that the unit can engage and the zone that can be protected against air attacks, and the maneuverability of the system has been improved as well.
