Sports meeting between senior officers of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Hungarian Defence Forces

The Sports Centre of the Serbian Football Association in Stara Pazova, today, was a venue for a friendly futsal match between the officers of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Hungarian Defence Forces.

Among the spectators of the officers’ football match there were Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Milan Mojsilović, as well as the Hungarian Armed Forces Defence Attaché, Lieutenant Colonel Gábor Makács.
 
The match was finished with a score of 2:1 for the Serbian Armed Forces team, and the goals that led our team to victory were scored by Colonel Mile Zorić from the Office of the Chief of General Staff and Colonel Velibor Pavlović from the Training Command Headquarters. The goal for the team of the Hungarian Defence Forces was scored by Colonel Attila Nagy.
 
This time, the coach of the Serbian Armed Forces team was Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Petar Cvetković, while the captain's arm band for our team was worn by Commander of the Training Command, Lieutenant General Đokica Petrović.
 
The starting lineup of the Hungarian team during this match included also Deputy Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Gábor Böröndi.
 
Speaking about the importance of these sports meetings, General Petrović pointed out that this was a match that was more than a game, this was a way to strengthen and deepen the friendship of our two armies, which is one of the pillars of friendship built by the governments of Serbia and Hungary.
 
- I would like to thank colleagues from the Hungarian Defence Forces, who did their best to be good guests and use their best efforts, and the winner was the sport – General Petrović emphasised.
 
Lieutenant General Böröndi recalled that the idea of sports meetings was born during one of the border meetings in 2015 and that the first match took place in Budapest at the end of the same year. Today's match, he added, is the eighth meeting and opportunity for the development of cooperation and friendship.
 
Speaking about the impressions after today's match, General Böröndi said that he believed that friendship between the two armies had deepened further, and the result is something that will make the team keep exercising until the next game.
 
At the end of the meeting, Minister Vulin handed the coins to the team captains. The best player was declared Colonel Velibor Pavlović from the Training Command Headquarters, while the title of the best goal-getter was taken by the member of the Hungarian team, Colonel Attila Nagy. The best ones were awarded plaques by Chief of General Staff, General Mojsilović.
 
This already traditional sports meeting, organised by the Operations Department and the Department for Training and Doctrine, is the eighth in a series of matches between the officers of the two armies, and according to the results, the Serbian Armed Forces team was more successful in the meetings so far.
