Chief of the General Staff Visits the Republic of Cyprus

Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, is visiting the Republic of Cyprus, with a delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces, at the invitation of Commander of the National Guard of Cyprus, Lieutenant General Ilias Leontaris.

During the official talks, the delegations of the Serbian Armed Forces and the National Guard of Cyprus discussed the possibilities for improving military-to-military cooperation and exchanged views on the current security situation in the region and worldwide. It was agreed that the focus of cooperation in the forthcoming period would be on training and professional development, special and engineer units training, as well as CBRN training. 

The importance of the engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces members in the United Nations mission in Cyprus (UNFICYP), where they have been participating since 2010, was pointed out. 

During his stay in the Republic of Cyprus, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces met with the Minister of Defence of Cyprus, Mr. Savvas Angelides, and in the continuation of his visit, General Mojsilović will visit the 4th Infantry Brigade and Special Forces Base of the National Guard of Cyprus and lay a wreath at the Makedonitissa Military Cemetery.
