Receptions at the General Staff on the Occasion of Military Holidays

On the occasion of the upcoming military holidays, the Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Major General Petar Cvetković, received today the delegations of artillery, military police, quartermaster, technical and traffic services.

In a conversation with the delegations, General Cvetković congratulated the holidays and expressed confidence that, guided by the bright examples of generations of soldiers and officers who have built the military before us, artillerymen, military police officers and members of logistics services will continue to make a full contribution to strengthening the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.

Artillery Day is celebrated on September 14 in memory of the day when, in 1918, the artillery preparation for the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki Front began.
 
Military Police Day is celebrated on September 14 in memory of the day when, in 1955, the military police was formed in the Yugoslav People's Army.

Quartermaster's Day is celebrated on September 14 in memory of the day when, in 1885, the Minister of War issued an order on the General Quartermaster's Office and the administration of the Supreme Staff.

The day of Technical service is celebrated on September 15, in memory of the day when, in 1891, the production of nitrocellulose (smokeless) gunpowder began in the gunpowder factory "Obilićevo" near Kruševac.

The day of the Traffic service is celebrated on September 15, in memory of the day when in 1908 the King of Serbia issued the Decree on the establishment of the traffic service.
