On 8th August, while he was on his holiday, Lieutenant Dušan Trajković from the Command of the 49th Logistic Battalion saved the life of a young man who was pulled out unconscious from the bottom of the swimming pool “Čair” in Niš.

The member of the Serbian Armed Forces saw a lifeguard pulling from the water the young man of some 30 years of age, without any signs of life. Having realised the severity of the situation Lieutenant Trajković ran and started administering the first aid, and at the same time asked the swimmers to call ambulance.

He was conducting resuscitation for more than five minutes until the young man started fiving the signs of life. Soon after, the ambulance arrived and took over the drowned man in semi-conscious state and took him to the Emergency Centre in Niš.

Lieutenant Trajković, showing the initiative, self-sacrifice, humanity and composure, once again demonstrated the readiness of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces to assist the citizens when it is required.
