At the "South" Base and nearby "Borovac" Training Ground, the readiness inspection of the Army Infantry Company for participation in the United Nations mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was realized.

As part of the unit's readiness inspection, a four-day tactical exercise was conducted, during which the work at the permanent checkpoint and observation post, control of mass gatherings, patrols, minefields procedures, work organization on the base and other unit tasks that can be expected in the mission were evaluated.

The control of actions and procedures regularity and compliance with international standards were performed by the evaluation team composed of officers from the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, the Army and the Training Command.

During the exercises and preparations for deployment to the peacekeeping operation, the Infantry Company members worked in the conditions that await them in a multinational environment, and the tasks they solved were completely adjusted to those in the area of operation.

The demonstrated ability reflects the full readiness of the unit for engagement in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), where members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been contributing to peace since 2010.

The Infantry Company mission engagement began in 2013, and it performs its tasks as an independent unit within the Spanish Battalion, in multinational brigade of the Sector "East". There is also Force Protection Platoon and staff officers of the Serbian Armed Forces in the area of operation, and thus, our contingent consists of 178 officers and soldiers in this mission.
