MPs Visited the South Base and the Army Command

Members of the National Assembly committees on security services control and defence and internal affairs, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Major General Petar Cvetković, visited yesterday the "South" Base and the Army Command.

In the "South" Base near Bujanovac, MPs were greeted by the Commander of the 4th Army Brigade, Brigadier General Slobodan Stopa, who presented them with organization, mission, tasks and place and role of his unit. After the presentation, members of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee and the Security Services Control Committee visited accommodation and training facilities of the 41st Infantry Battalion and the Multinational Operations Training Centre and spoke to members of the Serbian Armed Forces.

At the end of the visit, the Chairman of the Security Services Control Committee Igor Bečić presented Brigadier General Slobodan Stopa with a plaque of the Committee for contribution and strengthening of the security sector.

Afterwards, MPs visited the Army Command based in Niš, where they spoke to the Army Commander, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović and visited the Army Memorial Room, which contains names and surnames of soldiers, police officers and citizens killed in warfare since 1804.
