Military Exercise of the Western Military District of the Russian Federation Completed

At the end of the multi-day military exercise of the Western Military District of the Russian Federation, which included members of the Serbian Armed Forces from the 3rd Army Brigade, Major General Vladislav Nikolaevich Jersov, Commander of the 6th Army of the Western Military District, assessed that the exercise was very successful, respecting all safety measures.
General Jersov particularly praised the contribution of members of the Serbian Armed Forces to the success of the exercise, emphasising their excellent preparedness and high readiness that they showed during live firings and demonstration of tactical procedures.
- Joint execution of the set tasks of Serbian and Russian soldiers showed that we had no barriers or problems in communication. The understandable Slavic word made the system work well. At the exercise, we also used reconnaissance firearms, drones, guided missiles, helicopters and tactical air assault. But from the first day everything went according to the plan thanks to the excellent preparedness of the soldiers and the leadership of the 3rd Army Brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces – General Jersov said and invited the members of the Serbian Armed Forces to take part in the exercise of the Western Military District next year again.
This is for the third time that the units of the Serbian Army participate in a live fire exercise together with units of the Western Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
- Objective of the exercise is enhancing the operational capabilities of the units participating in the exercise – Colonel Goran Stamenković of the Army Command said. - For us, it is important to check our materiel, procedures and tactics in the unknown terrain, as well, and the result of this year's check is excellent. Our common goal is, of course, the continuation of cooperation and deepening of friendship between the Serbian and Russian armed forces – Colonel Stamenković said.
At the end of the exercise, a review of arms and combat and non-combat vehicles that participated in the exercise activities was organised, and the most successful members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Serbian Armed Forces were presented awards and recognitions.
