CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE
ON THE OCCASION OF THE DAY OF AIR FORCE AND AIR DEFENCE
I congratulate members of the Air Force and Air Defence, on December 24 – the Day of Service.
On December 24, back in 1912, Field Marshal Radomir Putnik passed the Decision on the formation of the Air Force Command situated in Niš. It comprised of Airplane and Balloon Department, Hydrogen Station and Pigeon Mail. At that time, Serbia was one of the 15 countries in the world that had military air force, and the following year, among the top 5 countries that used aircraft for combat purposes.
This year will be remembered for the COVID-19 virus pandemic, during which members of the Air Force and Air Defence were engaged in supporting the health protection of the population, as well as for the successfully implemented joint tactical exercise "Eastern Strike 2020" and the live-fire joint tactical exercise "Joint Action 2020", where you have justified the given trust.
By professional commitment, responsibility and improving the training of the Air Force and Air Defence members, you successfully strengthen the operational capability and reputation of the Serbian Armed Forces in the country and worldwide.
I congratulate you on the holiday, convinced that in the coming period you will successfully realize the assigned tasks and strengthen the morale of the members of your service.
