During the meeting that followed, General Mojsilović wished Minister Vučević success in his new role, briefed him on the organization and main missions of the Serbian Armed Forces, and introduced him to senior officers who hold key leadership and command positions in our military. General Mojsilović briefed Minister Vučević on the security situation and operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces which ensure successful execution of all assigned missions and tasks.
After the meeting, Minister Vučević said that no one should harbour any doubt that the equipment and arming of our military and the improvement in the living standards of our service members would continue, with the aim of making our armed forces a strong deterrent against everyone who means harm to the Republic of Serbia.
— First of all, I would like to say that it is a great honour to be a member of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, particularly the Minister of Defence. I would also like to express my deep gratitude to the Chief of the General Staff, General Mojsilović, and all senior officers who attended today's meeting, for their report on the situation in the Serbian Armed Forces and the analysis of the security situation in the Republic of Serbia and the region. As the Minister of Defence and a member of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, following the guidelines and orders of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, and the policies of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, I will do my best, in collaboration with the General Staff, to create the best possible conditions for all members of the Serbian Armed Forces, including better living standards, higher pays and better equipment. The Serbian Armed Forces are ready to respond to all challenges and I have no doubt that our armed forces know what their main missions are, in accordance with the policy of our country, of course — Minister Vučević said.
Minister Vučević congratulated the members of Armoured Units on October 31st, Armoured Units’ Day, and told them to continue to keep alive the glorious tradition of their predecessors who had always been at the service of their homeland and performed their tasks competently.
— I believe that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will continue to jointly strengthen the Serbian Armed Forces and our defence capabilities, respecting international relations and regional politics, but giving priority to Serbia’s independence and spirit of freedom, to our glorious tradition and the interests of our country and its citizens. This means that we will continue to equip and arm the Serbian Armed Forces, and to improve the service members’ living standards, with the aim of making our armed forces a strong deterrent against everyone who means harm to the Republic of Serbia, and no one should harbour any doubt about that — Minister Vučević said.
