Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met in Belgrade today with the KFOR Commander, Major General Ferenc Kajári.

This is the first meeting between the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and the newly appointed KFOR Commander, who took office in October this year.

General Mojsilović congratulated General Kajári on his appointment to this responsible position and stressed that KFOR, as the only legitimate security actor in Kosovo and Metohija in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military Technical Agreement, is expected to create conditions for a safe and peaceful life on the entire area of the province.

During the meeting, they also discussed the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the activities undertaken to monitor the situation on the ground and to preserve and improve security in that area. The importance of direct contacts at all levels between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR for the stable security situation in the province, and especially in the area of the administrative line towards Kosovo and Metohija, was emphasized in the conversation.
