Serbian Armed Forces Engaged in Clearing Snowbound Roads

After heavy snowfalls hitting most of our country, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been engaged over last several days, besides their regular tasks, in clearing snowdrifts on the roads within their units’ remit.
The priority is snow clearing of roads in the Ground Safety Zone and access to military facilities in mountain terrains difficult to reach, where on certain places the snow is more than one meter deep.
The works are carried out by members of traffic engineer units who through their daily engagement in clearing road communications using engineering assets also improve their competence to perform assigned tasks.
Thus conditions for unhindered and safe supply and maneuverability of the units of the Serbian Armed Forces are created, but also is access to healthcare system and provision of fundamental supplies to inhabitants of mountain villages, to whom these roads are the only link to the rest of the world.
Maintaining roads passable is enabled by timely and planned deployment of SAF engineer units, who have showed this time again that they are ready and capable of providing support to engaged forces and assistance to the citizens whenever it is required.
