Saint Sava Martial Arts Tournament

Organized by the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, the Saint Sava Martial Arts Tournament was held today at the "Rastko Nemanjić" barracks in Pančevo.
The Martial Arts Tournament has been organized since 2019, with the participation of members of SAF special units, cadets of the Military Academy and athletes from the Martial Arts Association of Serbia. This year, due to the current epidemiological situation, only members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade participated in the tournament.
The competitors showed their skills in boxing and kick-boxing, and the most successful, among five competing teams, was the team of the Special Operations Battalion "Sokolovi".
Martial arts training is part of daily training of members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, which develops self-confidence and perseverance and, most importantly, the ability to adequately and timely respond to situations in which they may find themselves during performing assigned tasks. This is one of the preconditions for a quality execution of special units’ tasks, primarily in the depth of the enemy's deployment.
