Flight Training in the Anti-Armour Helicopter Squadron

In the 714th Anti-Armour Helicopter Squadron, based at the airfield Morava in Kraljevo, intensive training for flight crews and technical personnel in carrying out special tasks in day and night conditions is currently taking place.
Younger pilots are undergoing training for helicopter section leaders, while more experienced members from this unit of the 98th Air Force Brigade are performing flight tasks and undergoing more complex training to maintain and improve their skills.
Squadron commander, Major Branko Stanković, emphasizes that flying is carried out in day and night conditions on Gama and Mi-35 helicopters.
— As part of flying in day conditions, pilots train and acquire qualifications for section leaders in low-level flying, with the help of their instructors who are sitting in the left seat of the helicopter. They practice flying at low altitude, leading the helicopter section to the target, as well as carrying out the operation and returning to the home airport — said Major Stanković, adding that after completing a flight task, pilots, together with their instructors and teachers, attend a flight analysis.
The implementation of intensive flight training in the squadrons of the Serbian Armed Forces has been made possible owing to huge investments in the Air Force. Due to being equipped with new helicopters and improved maintenance capacity, the availability of aircraft for training has been multiplied, allowing flight crews to achieve a much higher range and,consequently, a higher level of combat capability.
