Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces visits 72nd Special Operations Brigade

The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić visited today the 72nd Special Operations Brigade in "Rastko Nemanjić" barracks, Pančevo, where the demonstration of capabilities and presentation of "Cornet" anti-tank missile system was held.

The demonstration was also attended by Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.

During the demonstration, the skills of 72nd Special Operations Brigade members necessary for performing counter-terrorist combat were presented, while using newly introduced weapons together with the Air Force and Air Defence helicopter unit. Combat skills of recce and counter-terrorist units, simulated „Cornet“ anti-tank missile system action, and the use of service dogs were presented. Besides "Cornet", there were "Miloš" and "Humvee" military vehicles, H-145 M helicopters, UAVs and a remotely controlled unmanned platform "Mali Miloš" engaged.

After the demonstration President Vučić said that he was very satisfied with the procurement of Russia’s "Cornet" anti-tank missile system, as well as significant number of missiles and missile launchers , thus improving operational capability of Serbian Armed Forces.

— I am particularly satisfied with the fact that SAF members are happy about the procurement of Russia’s "Cornet" missile system; it is maybe the best anti-tank weapon in the world. Thus the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces are improved. "Cornet" is an important defensive weapon, necessary for deterring any potential attack on our country — President Vučić stated.

Wishing the members of the Serbian Armed Forces a Happy New Year, the President thanked all of them for protecting our homeland and taking care of our security.  
 
— You should go on working hard, training hard, loving your country as always and fighting for it. Regarding the equipment and salary, we are planning to improve those month-to-month, year-to-year, and you should look up to the best special forces in the world. Learn from others, but keep your own. I want to thank you once again for all that you have been doing for Serbia, for your love for Serbia sharing with all of us.
