TO THE MEMBERS OF THE GUARD
ON THE OCCASION 06 MAY — DAY OF THE UNIT
On behalf of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces and personally, I wish to congratulate the Guard’s members on 06th May — Day of the Unit.
Prince Miloš Obrenović issued an order on this day in 1830 (St. George Day) to form the first Serbian Guard unit named "Gvardija".
The Guard stands out as a prime unit of our Armed Forces performing protocol state activities and military honors and representing not only the Armed Forces, but also the Republic of Serbia in a remarkable, dignified and honorable manner.
It is your professional, competent and responsible attitude toward protocol duties and tasks in securing the defence system’s vital facilities that makes a contribution towards strengthening its overall operational capabilities.
