Final Preparations for Firing at the Shabla Range

Thursday, 2.9.2021 | Training
Members of the Air Force and Air Defence are making final preparations for joint live firing at targets in the airspace, which awaits them next week at the "Shabla" range in the Republic of Bulgaria.

As part of the preparations, members of the 204th Air Force Brigade are conducting intensive flight training on MiG-29 aircraft, while combat crews from the 250th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade Division are practicing detailed procedures for preparing and firing from the "Neva" and "Kub“ missile systems. Members of missile-technical batteries have an equally important role, testing missiles, checking technology and harmonizing all the elements necessary for this firing to be successful.

Before firing targets in the airspace, members of the Air Force and Air Defence, together with members of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, will also make direct preparations at the "Shabla" range.

Firing at this Black Sea range is being conducted for the sixth time since 2010 and represents an opportunity to test the results of previous training in practice, as well as to improve the overall capability of Air Force and Air Defence air protection units.
