New Group of Professional Soldiers Granted Permanent Employment

At Serbian Armed Forces commands and units, 850 professional soldiers previously employed on fixed-term contracts were formally presented with permanent employment contracts.
This is the second group of soldiers to be granted permanent employment following the amendments to the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces adopted in December last year. Earlier, in April, more than one thousand soldiers received permanent employment contracts.
At the ceremonies held to mark the occasion, it was emphasised that permanent employment contracts represented recognition of the soldiers’ conscientious and responsible work, as well as their dedication to the military profession and service to their homeland, Serbia.
The resolution of the employment status of professional soldiers forms part of the activities undertaken by the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff to improve the working conditions and living standards of military personnel.
This practice will continue in the future so that all professional soldiers who meet the prescribed requirements can exercise their right to permanent employment, thereby gaining greater job security and additional motivation for professional development and the successful performance of tasks within the defence system.
