Meeting With the Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Ministry of Defense

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, talked in Belgrade today with the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, Thomas Silberhorn, who is staying in the Republic of Serbia as part of his visit to the region.
The meeting’s discussions were on the current political and security situation in the region and the world, key challenges and security threats in Kosovo and Metohija and the activities of bilateral military cooperation between the Serbian and the German Armed Forces.
During the meeting, both sides expressed interest in further qualitative and quantitative improvement of military-military cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Positive experiences from joint deployment in the European Union peacekeeping operation in the Republic of Mali were highlighted, as well as the successful cooperation of training centers in the field of peacekeeping operations and atomic-biological-chemical defense.
Noting that the Covid-19 pandemic negatively affected the scope of bilateral military cooperation, the expectation was expressed that after the creation of more favorable epidemiological conditions, the implementation of the agreed activities will intensify.
