The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, visited today the members of the Serbian Armed Forces engaged on tasks in the municipalities of Svilajnac and Žabari.

In the municipality of Svilajnac, he visited the members of the First Pontoon Battalion of the River Flotilla, who are responsible for the safety and proper use of the pontoon bridge, which was set up over the Velika Morava river earlier this month. He gained insight into the conditions in which the members of the Serbian Armed Forces perform their tasks and the organization of work at the bridge crossing point, the establishment of which has greatly simplified the lives of the residents of Svilajnac and its surroundings.

The pontoon bridge, with the carrying capacity of 60 tons and a total length of 112 meters, was installed at the request of the representatives of the local government in Svilajnac, near the bridge on which traffic has been suspended, in order to provide the residents with better connection and a faster crossing of the river until the construction of a new bridge.

Next, he visited the members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade deployed to reinforce the security of the compressor station "Velika Plana" in the municipality of Žabari, on the route of the main gas pipeline from the border with Bulgaria to the border with Hungary, and was convinced that they were excellently equipped to carry out the assigned tasks.

After the tour, General Mojsilović emphasized that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces had once again demonstrated a high level of training, discipline and readiness to perform the tasks entrusted to them at any time, protecting vital infrastructure facilities and providing support where it was most needed. He emphasized that this engagement represents the best confirmation that the citizens can always rely on their Serbian Armed Forces, which will continue to be a reliable support for the state and people, ready to professionally, decisively and selflessly carry out every task, in accordance with the assigned missions.
