Unit Training for Deployment in Peacekeeping Operation in Lebanon

Monday, 4.7.2022 | Training
The collective training of the Force Protection Platoon from the Training Command for deployment in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon is underway at the "Borovac" range and at the "South" base.

The training is part of several months of preparations that the unit personnel go through in order to be fully qualified for the implementation of specific tasks in the peacekeeping operation.

During this part of the preparation, the Force Protection Platoon works under conditions similar to those of the mission, and the scenarios it works with are fully adapted to the situations in which it may find itself during the execution of tasks in the area of operation. The program includes content from tactical and physical training and topics from international humanitarian law, with focus on the implementation of tasks when securing the base.

In the final part of the preparations, in the middle of this month, the Force Protection Platoon will do a tactical exercise where the unit's ability for deployment in this mission will be evaluated.

The Serbian Armed Forces has deployed the Force Protection Platoon in the United Nations mission in Lebanon since 2014. The main task of our unit, which is part of the Italian contingent, is to secure the base where the United Nations forces are stationed.
