Participants in the Basic Course for NCOs and Soldiers on Military Service of Engineer Branch, 20th class, have been on their stationary camping at a temporary training ground on the Sava River in Šabac.

During the two-week specialized training they executed practical drills learning how to overcome water obstacles, service pontoon bridges and use mines and explosive ordnance.

In the course of the camping, in the daytime and nighttime conditions, future NCOs and soldiers on military service solved many tactical problems on the river, from scouting communications, overcoming the river using standard and improvised vessels, to a simulated demolition of facilities in the vicinity of waterways.

Stationary camping is another segment of specialized training delivered not only to soldiers on military service, but also to professional soldiers training to become SAF NCOs. Soldiers are now to have their specialized skills evaluated, after which they will be on collective training in SAF engineer units until the end of their military service. On the other hand, future NCOs will do their internship, acquiring methods and expert skills needed for delivering the training and their initial NCO duties.
