Training in SAF Mechanized Battalions

Wednesday, 5.10.2022 | Training
The SAF mechanized battalions’ members are being trained at exercise areas and peacetime dispositions for conducting Army combat operations using the IFV M-80A.

The service personnel of the mechanized battalions are provided with such training regularly, throughout the year, in cycles, with the aim of maintaining and increasing their competence for performing intended tasks.

The focus is kept on delivering practical lessons to the IFV crews and dismounted troops, from making preparations for the task, taking tactical actions on the move and during defensive and offensive operations, to maintaining all sub-systems and weapons. Further on, the mechanized battalions' members are to take part in tactical exercises and live firing where they will be able to demonstrate in practice how skillful they are in using this asset in combat.

The IFV M-80A is intended for mechanized units to carry out combat missions in all terrain and weather conditions; in fact, its reliability and efficiency have been confirmed during its employment in SAF units and on numerous tactical exercises.
