Wednesday, 8.11.2023 | Training
At peacetime locations and exercise area, members of mechanized units are currently undergoing intensive training for the execution of combat missions on Army operations.

The winter cycle of professional members’ training for the execution of assigned missions and tasks begins with this training activity, the goal in general being to improve further both individual skills and overall combat readiness of the units.

In accordance with the training program, tactical actions and procedures on the move and during defensive and offensive operations are now being practiced, using the basic combat asset of mechanized units — the M-80A infantry fighting vehicle. The focus is on joint tactical drills of IFV crews and embarked infantry squads, as well as basic maintenance training for all subsystems and weapons.

This will be followed by the execution of firing practices at specialized ranges of the Serbian Armed Forces, and then by tactical exercises and live firing in winter conditions, when members of mechanized battalions will demonstrate their tactical and firearms skills in practice.

Training in mechanized battalions, which are, together with armored units, mainly responsible for maneuvers on SAF operations, is carried out in all conditions throughout the year. Its execution leads to the required level of competence of each individual, team efficiency and speed of reaction, which is of critical importance for rapid introduction of infantry into battle and proper fire support and protection of forces on operations.
