Training with Modern Radars in 126th ASEWG Brigade

Personnel of the 126th ASEWG Brigade are continuously conducting training with the new GM-200 and GM-400 medium- and long-range radars to maintain proficiency and further enhance their operational readiness for executing assigned missions.
In an era of rapid technological changes and the use of highly sophisticated technology, daily training is a prerequisite for the successful deployment of units responsible for airspace control, fighter aircraft guidance and direction of air defense missile units.
Captain 1st Class Boban Petrov, a company commander, 31st ASEWG Battalion, emphasizes that high proficiency among professional personnel is crucial for effective deployment within the forces constantly engaged in controlling and protecting the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
“The training encompasses theoretical instruction on radar operating principles as well as hands-on work with the equipment itself, involving practice in target detection and tracking procedures within the airspace; particular emphasis is placed on the proper use of the system and the application of operational procedures under various working conditions. Continuous training and professional development using modern radar systems constitute a vital aspect of the unit’s operational capability development, ensuring a high level of personnel proficiency in executing assigned tasks,” says Captain Petrov.
The acquisition of state-of-the-art 3D radars from the GM (Ground Master) family, along with new systems for processing and displaying the air situation and for automatic control, has significantly enhanced the spatial and information capabilities of the 126th ASEWG Brigade, as well as the overall capabilities of the Air Force and Air Defense regarding the control and protection of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
