Skills Assessment of Soldiers Undergoing Military Service

Basic individual training assessments have been completed at Serbian Armed Forces basic training centers for soldiers performing voluntary military service in the “June 2026” intake.
This initial assessment for the intake evaluated proficiency in independently executing tactical actions and procedures on the battlefield, handling weapons and military equipment, and performing internal service and facility security duties.
Second Lieutenant Marko Nikolić, a platoon commander at the 3rd Training Center, explains that the assessment covers basic marksmanship and tactical skills, knowledge of service regulations, and topics such as close-order drills, first aid, and fire safety.
“The purpose of this assessment is for us, as commanders, to gauge the soldiers' level of training for task execution and, based on that, direct them to specialist training centers,” said Second Lieutenant Nikolić.
Soldier Viktorija Veljković emphasizes that it is a great honor and privilege to serve our country and stand in formation, following the example of our ancestors.
“I would describe the training as demanding, as it was a period of life when everything was new to us. It was difficult at first, but as time went on—and with the help of our superiors, who were fully dedicated—it became increasingly easier,” said Soldier Veljković.
As their military service continues, the soldiers will undergo training at specialist training centers to master the use of the equipment and assets specific to their branch or service, thereby preparing for the final phase: collective training within Serbian Armed Forces units.
