In accordance with the training plan for the territorial forces of the Serbian Armed Forces, an exercise of the Drina Brigade Command is being conducted this week at the Simulation Training Centre in Belgrade.

During the exercise, in a simulated environment, the command of this territorial brigade, whose foundation is the Second Training Centre at war, is practising planning, organizing and conducting defensive operations.

The emphasis is on training staff officers and non-commissioned officers in implementing procedures in the process of making military decisions and resolving tactical incidents that may arise during combat actions. The knowledge of the principles of using territorial forces in operations, as well as cooperation with civil actors, is also checked.

Exercises supported by computer simulation are an important form of practical command training in the Serbian Armed Forces because they provide an opportunity for staff officers and commands to improve their capability for the efficient implementation of the operational planning process and the adequate use of units in combat actions, with minimal expenditure of material resources.
