Training of Latest Class of Soldiers on Military Service

At the Serbian Armed Forces basic training centers in Sombor and Leskovac, the first phase of individual training of soldiers on military service, Class September 2025, is underway.
In this segment of military service the training program includes individual preparation, developing physical fitness, learning basic combat actions and knowledge necessary to carry out military tasks within the unit.
During the first weeks, soldiers adapt to the military way of life, become familiar with rules of service, units’ organization and basic procedures. The focus is on training to use and handle personal weapons, doing tactical drills and developing team spirit and discipline. This is an important step in the formation of trained and motivated members of the Serbian Armed Forces, ready to respond to all tasks in the service of the fatherland.
The training is delivered by experienced instructors and senior officers, who monitor the progress of the soldiers and provide them with support in all training segments. This phase lasts until mid-October and is identical for soldiers of all specialties. It ends with an individual skills assessment, after which the soldiers will be transferred to the specialist training centers.
Although they have only been in the army for two weeks, the soldiers of the September 2025 intake show high motivation and dedication during the training and while performing all other tasks. Many of them have already expressed their desire to become professional soldiers of the Serbian Armed Forces, for which they can apply while still performing their military service.
