Day of 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade

At the “Banjica” Barracks in Belgrade, a military ceremony has been held today on the occasion of the Day of the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade, which is celebrated on 24 November in memory of the day when, in 1962, the 250th Air Defense Missile Regiment was formed.

On the occasion of the holiday, a parade of Brigade units and a tactical-technical assembly of weapons and military equipment were held, key achievements in building operational capabilities were presented, awards were handed to the most successful individuals and wreaths were laid at the memorial in the barracks.

While reviewing the results achieved in the year behind us, the emphasis was placed on the commitment, professionalism and high level of competence of members of the 250th Missile Brigade confirmed during implementation of all assigned tasks and live firing at aerial targets in Bulgaria, as well as their contribution to strengthening operational capabilities of Air Force and Air Defense and airspace security of our country.

The ceremony was attended by Air Force and Air Defense Commander Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, Head of the Operations Directorate (J-3), General Staff, Major General Tiosav Janković, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces’ units, Serbian Orthodox Church, local government bodies and institutions with which the Brigade cooperates, and numerous guests.

Today, members of the 250th Missile Brigade have also celebrated the St. Patron Day of the unit, Holy Martyr Stefan Dečanski, and the Holy Bishop's Liturgy was served on that occasion by Vicar of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije Bishop of Lipljan and the Military Dositej.
