Tactical Exercise of Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion

In the past few days, at the Serbian Armed Forces’ training ground in the vicinity of Niš, the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion has carried out a twofold tactical exercise, which checked the level of competence of the professional staff to perform the tasks within the mission of providing intelligence in the operations of the Serbian Armed Forces .
The tactical exercise included all the contents and activities stipulated by collective tasks of the battalion while collecting and processing intelligence data, using the BRDM-2MS armoured reconnaissance vehicle and modern observation and reconnaissance devices.
Most of the exercise was conducted at night, after successfully mastering the contents and activities during earlier tactical exercises in the daytime. The focus was on applying the tactics and procedures during reconnaissance and carrying out patrols, raids and ambushes. Following the exercise scenario, the reconnaissance units implemented tactical actions in all operational phases, from receiving to executing the task issued by the superior command, which controlled and checked their skills.
The results confirmed the high level of competence of the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion members in collecting, processing and sending intelligence data in real time and on the move, as well as using efficiently the assigned combat systems and reconnaissance optronics.
The Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion is an independent Army unit. It is equipped and trained to collect intelligence data for the purpose of military operations, and the level of skills of the professional staff and overall combat readiness of the unit is increased through constant training and execution of exercises and firing.
