Operator Training for Computer-Assisted Simulation Exercises
Wednesday, 11.3.2026 | Training
At the Serbian Armed Forces Simulation Training Center in Belgrade, operator training is underway with the software used to perform computer-assisted simulation exercises.
The JCATS (Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation) software enables the design and modeling of a wide range of conflict situations, simulating one’s own and enemy forces, time, space, information and operation dynamics. It is intended for training the SAF commands of all levels, providing staff officers and unit commanders with credible conditions for standardized training for planning and conducting combat operations in the full spectrum.
During the two-week training at the Center, officers and NCOs from the SAF commands and units acquire basic knowledge about the use of software, both for training and checking the skills of all units in charge of the decision-making process.
Participants who successfully master all training contents will apply their knowledge in national and international computer-assisted simulation exercises. These exercises represent an important form of practical training in the Serbian Armed Forces, as they enable commands and staff officers to be trained for planning and executing combat operations with a minimal expenditure of material resources.
