International CIMIC Course

An international course in the field of Civil-Military Cooperation has started in Kruševac, today, organized by the CIMIC Department (J-9) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.

The course participants are officers and NCOs from the Serbian Armed Forces and armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Italy, North Macedonia, United States of America, Netherlands and Montenegro, who deal with civil-military cooperation, as well as representatives of civilian institutions from the Republic of Serbia.

During two-week training at the “Car Lazar” Barracks in Kruševac and at the “Ravnjak” Training Ground, they will be trained to work in different positions in CIMIC teams and units at the tactical level, advancing their knowledge about the activities of civilian organizations in the areas of multinational operations.

Practical and theoretical training is being carried out by a combined team of instructors from the Serbian Armed Forces and armed forces of Italy, USA and the Netherlands, as well as visiting lecturers from the Sector for Emergency Management of the Ministry of the Interior, the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration and Red Cross of Serbia.

Implementation of this international training program provides participants with a basis for a better understanding of modern challenges while working with civilian organizations in a complex operational environment, being also an opportunity for officers and NCOs from different countries to exchange experience in the field of cooperation with non-military structures.
