Monday, 30.3.2026 | Training
The Army’s Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion is undergoing tactical training in the implementation of intelligence security tasks at the training grounds in the vicinity of Niš.
The training is carried out in order to maintain and improve the competence of the unit members to implement the assigned tasks, and to introduce new members of the unit to their duties.
In the field, the tactics and procedures during observation and intelligence gathering are practiced, along with the execution of patrols, raids and ambushes, and proper and safe handling of the unit’s basic combat asset — the BRDM-2MS armoured reconnaissance vehicle. An important part of the training is devoted to the protection from aerial attacks, primarily from drones, and tactical actions in contact with the enemy.
Training is a priority task in the battalion and is carried out in all tactical and weather conditions in order to ensure a high level of combat readiness for the implementation of tasks in the operations of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion is an independent unit within the Army. It is equipped and trained for the collection of intelligence data for the needs of military operations, and the level of skills of the professional staff and combat readiness of the unit is increased through constant training and the implementation of exercises and firing.
