Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, has spoken today with JFC Naples Commander, American Admiral George M. Wikoff, who is on his first visit to Belgrade since taking office in mid-November last year.

The discussion at the meeting at the General Staff covered the security situation in the region and the prospects for further cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and JFC Naples. It has been assessed that the established relations are constructive and aimed at preserving peace and stability in the region, and the readiness of both sides for further improvement of cooperation in the areas of mutual interest was expressed.

Bearing in mind that the International Security Forces in our southern province are under the responsibility of the JFC Naples, the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija and cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR in monitoring the situation on the ground and preventing the escalation of the crisis were especially considered. In this sense, the importance of open and direct communication between the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and Commander of JFC Naples, and KFOR Commander, was underlined.

General Mojsilović and Admiral Wikoff then visited the Borovac Training Ground and South Base, where the guest was shown the training and exercise facilities, developed thanks to U.S. donations as well.

Admiral Wikoff, dual-hatted as Commander U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, has been received today by President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić and Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić.
