At the Military Airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica and on the outskirts of Belgrade, pilots of the 101st Fighter Squadron “Knights” are being trained with multipurpose fighter planes “Mig-29”.

According to the flight training program, procedures of take-off and landing in pair, interception of targets by classical guidance and free fighting, as well as elements of air combat are being practiced. Interceptions are being carried out in favorable and complex meteorological conditions, day and night, focusing on medium altitudes and classical guidance.

Flight training ensures the maintenance of skills and continued training of pilots to use all aircraft and weapons potential by applying tactical procedures.

In addition to regular flying tasks and training, members of the 101st Fighter Squadron are also engaged within the permanently deployed forces for control and protection of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.

A fighter aviation duty unit from this squadron engages in the tasks of intercepting aircraft for the purpose of identification and tracking, taking them out of the prohibited or dangerous zone, returning them to the planned flight path and taking them out of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia or forced landing on the assigned airport, as well as providing assistance to aircraft in an emergency, all for the sake of safe air traffic and preservation of the Republic of Serbia’s air sovereignty.
