This and last week, on the basis of the 2025 Serbia-Egypt Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan, members of the special forces of the two countries executed joint training in conducting counter-terrorist operations.

The goal of the training, which took place at the “Rastko Nemanjić” Barracks in Pančevo and “Orešac” Training Ground near Vršac, is the improvement of skills and exchange of experience in performing special operations in urban and rural environments.

The training involved combat teams from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and Egyptian El-Sa’ka Forces, supported by the Serbian Armed Forces’ helicopter units. During the two-week activities, they carried out a number of tactical and fire missions as part of the counter-terrorist operation, including a helicopter landing, first aid and medical evacuation. Training in climbing was also carried out, as well as firing with modern weapons used by the Serbian Armed Forces’ units.

A similar training activity was carried out at training grounds in Egypt last year. Such activities are conducted to improve interoperability and strengthen mutual confidence, understanding and overall relations between Serbia and Egypt.
