Day of 204th Air Force Brigade

Members of the 204th Air Force Brigade solemnly celebrated the Unit’s Day — December 02, in memory of the day when the 204th Fighter Aviation Regiment was formed in 1949, whose traditions this Serbian Armed Forces unit continues.

On the occasion of the holiday, at the military airfield Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović in Batajnica, a parade of brigade members and a display of aviation military assets were held, key achievements in building operational capabilities were highlighted and awards presented to deserving individuals. On this occasion, diplomas were presented to the best pilots and mechanics, traditionally awarded in memory of Major Zoran Radosavljević, a pilot who died defending the country against NATO aggression in 1999.

As part of the commemoration of the 204th Air Force Brigade Day, a tribute was paid to the fallen and deceased members of the unit by laying wreaths and flowers at the “No One Said No” memorial.

In reviewing the achieved results, it has been pointed out that the unit completed all assigned tasks in the year behind, that the trend of acquiring modern materiel continued, and the fact that members of the 
204th Air Force Brigade are characterized by their professionalism, competence and high morale, which, on the whole, contributed to improving further the unit’s capabilities and the Air Force and Air Defense.

Today’s ceremony was attended by Air Force and Air Defense Commander, Major General Brane Krnjajić, the families of the fallen members of the brigade and former members of the unit, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces, the Serbian Orthodox Church, local government bodies, and other numerous guests.
