Joint Training of Serbian and American CIMIC Specialists

A tactical CIMIC course is being conducted at the “South” Base near Bujanovac, and is attended by officers and NCOs from the Serbian Armed Forces and United States European Command.
The aim of the course is to train additionally the specialists in the field of civil-military cooperation to perform functional tasks in UN and EU peacekeeping operations.
The eight-day training at the “South” Base and “Borovac” Training Ground provides the participants with additional knowledge about the activities of civil organizations operating in peacekeeping AOs, including practical training in performing different roles as part of CIMIC teams and units.
The training is carried out by a combined team of instructors from the Serbian Armed Forces and U.S. Armed Forces, as well as visiting lecturers from the Department for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
Joint training of military personnel is one of the areas of successful bilateral military cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the USA aimed at improving the capabilities and interoperability of the armed forces and strengthening mutual understanding and confidence.
