Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović has welcomed today Commander of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples) Admiral Stuart B. Munsch, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.

General Mojsilović and Admiral Munsch have discussed the regional and global security situation and cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and JFC Naples, keeping the focus on the situation in our southern province, having in mind that KFOR is within responsibility of this Command.

In parallel with the assessment that the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and NATO contributes to the strengthening of mutual confidence as well as peace and stability building in the region, it has been concluded that developing mutual relations in all areas of our common interest should continue and noted that the established cooperation mechanisms allow for that.

In his reference to the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, which he assessed as unstable and unpredictable, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff has pointed out that the Republic of Serbia expects KFOR, as the only legitimate security actor in the Province, to ensure the security of the citizens and protect Serbian population and our cultural, historical and religious heritage. General Mojsilović has reminded of a series of unilateral and provocative moves by provisional institutions of self-government in Priština in recent years and stated that such actions are in conflict with the efforts made by the Republic of Serbia and its international partners aimed at de-escalating the situation on the ground and creating a safe and secure environment in Kosovo and Metohija.

On his visit to Serbia, Admiral Stuart B. Munsch, who concurrently serves as Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe – Africa, will have separate meetings with Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić.
