Cooperation with the Russian Federation in the field of defence

Deputy Head of the General Staff Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic met at “Banjica 2” barracks with Major General Sergei Ivanovich Kobilash, Head of the Main Command of the Aviation of the Air Forces of the Russian Federation, who headed the Air Force delegation of the Russian Federation.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss present cooperation in the field of defence of the two countries, and its further improvement.

In the course of their visit to Serbia, the Russian delegation was also received by Commander of the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence General Major Ranko Zivak at the Air Force and Air Defence Command in Zemun.

On this occasion, General Zivak and his associates presented RViPVO’s missions, tasks and organization, means in operative use and equipment plans, and air force practice planning at the Armed Forces of Serbia. Guests from the Russian Air Force introduced General Zivak with the ways of planning operations and air force practices at the Russian Air Force. Moreover, they discussed the long-term bilateral military cooperation plan of the two Air Forces, and the initiatives for improving cooperation in this field.

The delegation of the Russian Air Force visited the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade, the Yugoslav Aviation Museum and “Batajnica” Airport, where they had the opportunity to see the capacities of the Military Medicine Institute and 204th Air Force Brigade, and to view the presentation of “Lasta” airplane.
