Distinguished Visitors’ Day of the Multinational Exercise “Platinum Wolf 23”

Thursday, 22.6.2023 | Training
In the “South” Base and “Borovac” training range near Bujanovac, international tactical training Exercise “Platinum Wolf 23” is being conducted involving about 600 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the armed forces from nine other states.

The final training activities at the ‘Borovac’ training range were attended today by Mr Miloš Vučević, the Minister of Defence, and General Milan Mojsilović, the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, H.E. Christopher Hill, the Ambassador of the United States of America in Belgrade, as well as representatives of armed forces of the participating countries and military diplomatic corps.

The distinguished guests had opportunity to watch how temporarily formed multinational units in the exercise solve different tactical tasks that could be performed by peacekeeping forces in peace support operations, such as urban operation, base defence, crowd control and work at the control point.

The aim of the exercise is to improve interoperability and mutual understanding among the armed forces of partner countries during the conduct of a peacekeeping operation in a multinational environment. Participants are officers, NCOs and soldiers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, United Kingdom, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Romania, USA, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia.

The exercises from “Platinum Wolf” series have been conducted in Serbia since 2014, and their significance is reflected in raising not only capacities for planning, organising and conducting the international exercises but also capabilities of the units of the Serbian Armed Forces for their deployment to multinational operations using, among other things, non-lethal weapons as well.
