21st Signal Battalion

The 21st Signal Battalion is the strongest signal unit in the Army, equipped and trained to provide communications and information systems support for the Army Command.

The 21st Signal Battalion Headquarters and units are located in Niš.

In its composition the battalion has three signal companies and technical maintenance section. 

Lieutenant Colonel Ljubiša Pajić is the commander of the 21st Signal Battalion.

Tasks of the 21st Signal Battalion


21st Signal Battalion is tasked with:

  • Providing communications and information support for Army Command
  • Training of headquarters and units for accomplishing the assigned tasks

Background of the 21st Signal Battalion


The 21st Signal Battalion was formed in 2007, by merging the signal battalions of Niš and Priština Corps. The Signal Battalion continues the traditions of the 319th Signal Regiment of the Third Army. 

The 21st Signal Battalion celebrates its day on 20 September, which is also the Day of Communication Service.
