Signals Brigade
The basic purpose of the Signal Brigade is the provision of continuous functioning of the Communication and IT System of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. It is directly subordinated to the IT and Communications Department (J-6).

Signals Brigade comprises HQ, HQ Company and four signal battalions.
Tasks of the Signals Brigade
Signals Brigade performs the following tasks:
- Maintain a continuous provision of the communication and IT support to the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces;
- Control and manage the stationary component of the Communication and IT System of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces;
- Install mobile Communication and IT Centers at command posts (strategic level); and
- Train the Signal Brigade personnel.
Background of the Signals Brigade
The Signals Brigade was established on October 30, 2006, by merging the 398th Signal Brigade and the 235th Stationary Communications Centre.
The Day of the Brigade is celebrated on September 20. On that day in 1916, at the proposal of the Minister of War, Crown Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević approved the Decree on the Military Telegraph. The Signals Brigade continues the tradition of the signal units of the Supreme Command, the General Staff of the Serbian Army, which was established following the adoption of the Decree on the Military Telegraph.
