Air Force and Air Defence Training Centre

Air Force & Air Defence Training Centre is in charge for individual specialized training of soldiers doing voluntary military service, cadets, students and reserve component who did not serve military service with weapons, as well as the training of all categories of staff (from professional soldiers to officers, from active and reserve component) of the of air defence artillery branch, air reconnaissance and reporting service and technical services of air technical speciality.

Centre comprises HQ, HQ Section, Air Defence Missile Battery "Neva-M", Air Defence Self-Propelled Missile Battery "Kub-M", Air Defence Short Range Artillery Missile Battery, Airborne Early Warning and Control Company and Air Technical Specialty Training Company.

Air Force and Air Defence Training Centre is located at the military airport "Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović" u Batajnici. 

Lieutenent Colonel Branislav Krstić is the Commander of the AF & AD Training Centre.

Tasks of the AF & AD TC


AF & AD Training Centre is tasked with:

  • Individual specialized training of soldiers doing voluntary military service and professional soldier candidates,
  • Certification of training of soldiers doing voluntary military service and professional soldier candidates after completing individual specialized training,
  • Training of NCO of Air Force and Air Defence branches and services,
  • Organizing and conduction courses for additional training of NCOs od Air Force and Air Defence branches and services,
  • Control and assessment of control-training firing and live firing of Air Defence Artillery Missile units.

Training in the AF & AD TC


Air Force and Air Defence Training Centre conducts individual specialized training of soldiers doing voluntary military services for military occupational specialties of Air Force and Air Defence branches and services – air defense artillery branch (22 specialties), air reconnaissance and reporting service (11 specialties), and technical services of air technical speciality (6 specialties). In total, soldiers of 39 specialties of Air Force and Air Defence branches and services undergo training in Air Force and Air Defence Training Centre.

Training structure:

  • military training (tactical training, firing training, assets and equipment),
  • physical training.

Individual specialized training phase of soldiers doing voluntary military service lasts 6 weeks, i.e. 30 workdays or 180 classes.

Specialized training conducted at Air Force and Air Defence Training Centre is an advanced individual training, through which one acquires necessary specialized knowledge and skills for military occupational specialties of Air Force and Air Defence branches and services, needed for self-reliant handling and usage of military technology.

The goal of the training is creation of a self-confident and disciplined soldier, who is physically ready, well motivated, and has training in basic skills, as well as qualities of a fighter, which would enable him to survive in the battle field and perform his tasks as a member of a crew or a team.

Background of the AF & AD TC


Air Force and Air Defence Training Centre was established on December 15, 2006 through reorganization and renaming of the Air Force and Air Defence School Centre.

Day of the unit is celebrated on December 24, the same day as the Air Force and Air Defence Day, in remembrance of December 24, 1912 when the Air Force HQ was established in Niš.
